Happy Tears

If you blog, I'm sure by now you've heard of what's happened to NieNie and her family. CJane updates the world on their progress daily. I have been moved by this amazing story, but I'm not really a "crier". (Yesterday was a freak show of emotion - that doesn't count. I refuse to turn into my mother who cries over everything, including every episode of Little House On The Prairie.) However, today, I finally let it go. Because I saw this video.

At the end, it shows different shots people from all over the world who have pulled together for this family and I was OVERWHELMED by the sense of good and love that still exists in the world. We hear too much of violence and war and sadness and disease and think the world is going to hell in a handbasket. But when I saw that video, it reminded me that this world is FILLED with loving mothers, close friends, close-knit families, caring husbands, tender children, and GOOD. There is so much good. And I was overwhelmed.

It was a beautiful video. Thanks for the link.
What an unbelievably sad situation. I wish that I had known about her blog before all of this.

it really is amazing! i too am not a very "emotional" type of person. but everytime i think of this sweet family I am reminded how precious life really is... i often find myself close to tears. i keep telling myself i'm just not going to read the updates anymore, but i can't help but being drawn back.

I have never read Nie's blog, but have heard so much of her from all the other blogs! it's been amazing how all these women have pulled together for her! You're right, it's nice to know that there is still good in this world!
