Love Is In The Air

I came across this fun list of the American Film Institute's 100 Greatest Love Stories and with Valentine's Day right around the corner, I found it quite appropriate. Here are the top twenty. If you start this weekend and watch one a day, you can be done by the end of the month!

3. West Side Story (1961)
4. Roman Holiday (1953)
5. An Affair to Remember (1957)
6. The Way We Were (1973)
7. Doctor Zhivago (1965)
8. It's a Wonderful Life (1946)
9. Love Story (1970)
10. City Lights (1931)

I love almost all of those but two major exceptions for me are: Casablanca. I always thought it was totally over-rated. And, Ghost. I HATED that movie.

But, of course, Gone With The Wind. Ah, my love...

I never understand why Casablanca is a romantic movie. It is just sad and a bit twisted. I've seen it many times but never thought of it as a romantic movie.

Totally with you on the love of movies. Before kids I saw tons of movies, now, not so much.

Somewhere in time.... ah... Love that movie.

I just posted about the Ten Commandments. Not really a romantic movie, but I love Nefertiti in that movie. Why would Moses want to leave Egypt when there was a beautiful Egyptian princess that was hot for him?

OK, this is pitiful. How many of those movies have the romantic characters end up together? Is it only romantic if it ends tragically as well? I guess it just confirms the fact that my life has no romance in it. ;)
