Some Current Faves

Another fabulous album I can't seem to get enough of.  It's SOOOOO good.  I'm in love.

Currently swooning over all of Oliver Jeffers children's books.  This one made me cry, and this one made me laugh out loud.

Great website for eating clean.  Craig and I are having a go at it.  Not loving it yet, but this website definitely makes it easier.  And the homemade protein bars are yummy!

This sounds crazy, but I love doing beach towel laundry.  It means we had a week full of fun, they don't require sorting, and they fold quickly & easily into perfect little piles.  I {heart} beach towel laundry.

Fourth of July

We had another successful Fourth of July celebration this year, and Ava's first.

We started with an early morning breakfast at the church.  

 AJ participated in the hula-hooping contest.

The girls played some Glee Karaoke on the WII...

while I made some homemade peach ice cream.

We cooled off in the pool for a bit.  Mom's good for snuggling in the towels, 

but when it comes to playing in the water, everyone wants dad.  Can't say I blame them.

 We went to Bedford to watch fireworks.  It was hot, but bearable.

Ava LOVED the fireworks.  She kept squealing and grinning and pointing every time one would go off.  I'm still kicking myself for not bringing my good camera so I could take better shots of her - it was so cute.  But I'll have to settle for my trusty iphone pics.

We were all tired by the end of the day, I think AJ more than the rest.  She lasted about 10 minutes in the car on the way home.

This was her the next morning.  Successful holiday indeed!

I Just Want To Blog!

I love blogging.  Why am I so terrible at it?  I had a good run for a couple of years.  I was very consistent.  And then... I don't know.  I can't seem to get back in the groove.  I'm gonna give it a go again.  This time, I'm going to try doing some posts from my phone.  I'm on my phone much more than the computer.  Although, I'm worried this will limit my options and leave me frustrated.  We'll see.  And since this is also like my "journal", I will probably be throwing in post-dated entries so don't let that throw you if you use an online reader.

On a side note, I nursed Ava for the last time this week.  Even with cutting dairy out of my diet (as much as I could anyway), she still spit up every night.  And that not fun after eating baby food.  Not fun for my dresses, or Craig's white shirts, or our fairly-new carpet.  It leads me to want to buy her this:

I had hoped to hit the year mark, but we were both ready to be done.  She is no longer interested and I am strangely WAY less emotional about stopping than I was with AJ.  I wonder why that is?  9 1/2 months was a good run.  I am so thankful to have a healthy, happy baby.

And on a positive note, she is sleeping the night (about 11 hours) and is finally getting her nap schedule down.  Life is good.  Now if only it wasn't so dang hot!...
