Ah, Shoes (Gesundheit!)
Funny that a pair of really nice shoes make us feel good in our heads - at the extreme opposite end of our bodies. ~Levende Waters
I love this quote, because it is so true! I am a shoe girl. I love shoes. You never have a bad shoe day. Your shoes never get zits. You never try on a pair of shoes at the store and say "I can't buy these - they make me look fat!" Shoes are beautiful, even if you aren't. And no matter how crappy I look, I feel instantly hotter with a fab pair of shoes. I've had these fun ones for years and dusted them off for church last week.
I was feeling pretty good about my fun flirty shoes. Until I saw these on Oprah yesterday.
They are like little presents for your feet. If I owned these shoes*, I would never take them off. EVER! I would wear them to bed. I would wear them to the grocery store. They would become my new gym shoes. (An added bonus - nobody's watching my jello-butt on the treadmill; they're staring at my mind-blowing footwear.) They come from my boyfriend, Christian Louboutin. He makes the famous red-bottom shoes. They make me drool to the point I am in danger of drowning on my own spit. Here's a little eye candy (or should I say toe candy) for you to swoon over with me.
Seriously - I'M DROWNING! Where's the Hoff when you need him?!
Oh, there he is. YIKES!
*Disclaimer, for the sake of my husband before he dies of a heart attack - I am under no dillusion that I can or ever will spend $900 on a pair of shoes. But hey, a girl can dream. And if my boyfriend Christian sees this and wants to donate the fabulous green shoes, I promise I will send you the nicest homemade thank you card you've ever seen. That should about even things out.

Ah, Youth...
AJ gets most of her vocabulary from Dora and The Backyardigans. Sad, but true. How she applies that vocabulary, however, is all her own doing. We were at Kohl's today, she grabs a rather large bra off the rack and shouts at the top of her lungs, "Look Mom - a booby trap!" Technically, I guess she's right. Doesn't make it less embarassing for me. She also thinks it's hilarious to take naps in the pantry.
Hmmm, sleep AND food. She may be on to something...

I Heart Etsy
I came across the best ever Etsy store. She sells "Hate Mail". I had a tremendous laugh of it. These are my favs:
It says "LOVE IS NEVER HAVING TO SAY YOU'RE SORRY" and then the inside says "SORRY". Oh my gosh, I'm totally laughing again. Ahh... And my other favorite - these little calling cards:
I'm going to order a set of these. Seriously - haven't you ever come back to your car and found the yahoo next to you is so close you can barely get in and you just want to leave a note on their windshield, but it's too much effort? Problem solved. Just pull one of these little babies out of your purse. Voila!
I also like the cheery card that say "KEEP YOUR CHINS UP". HA HA HA!
She has a bunch more funny ones. Check 'em out.
I seriously can't stop giggling. Was it something I ate?!
OK, one more:
I'm gonna pee my pants.

I'm Alive!
Believe it or not, I have not fallen into quicksand or vanished in the Bermuda Triangle. Just been a bit sidetracked. Quick recap -
Christmas was great, hope yours was too! We got lots of fun stuff, but my favorite is this:
I've been wanting one for years. I'm sure I can attribute this to dozens of cookies I'll be making and therefore the extra ten pounds I'll probably put on this year.
Craig got Cougar gear, even some for AJ!
Christmas night, we went to dinner at Denny's, for the ultimate white trash Christmas experience. I love it!
We had a little New Year's party. AJ had a blast. She kept randomly running up to people in her giant party hat and blowing her noisemaker, shouting "THIS PARTY IS SO FUN!" Please also note the purple make-up all over their faces is not my doing.
I made this scrapbook page:
I made this frame to hang in my scrapbook room:
I decided that each month I am going to rotate a new page into it:
I made another wedding autograph book for one of Candace's photography clients:
Planned a year's worth of activities for my Activity Day Girls (church calling):
Read "Enna Burning":
(It was good, but not as good as "The Goose Girl", a must read if you haven't already.)
Watched Masterpiece Theatre's Jane Eyre:
Ah, I love you Edward!
Finished, "Eclipse", the last book in the "Twilight" series:
Ah, I love you Edward!
Watched "The Painted Veil":
Ah, I love you Edward! Hm, I can't put my finger on it, but I feel like there's some kind of pattern developing...
Finally got my buns back to the gym:
(This is not what I look like.) In fact...
This is what I look like after I've worked out. I don't know what the deal is, but when I even start to break a sweat, my face gets so red it looks like I'm ready to explode. And I feel fine, really good actually, but I think the people around me look at me like "Wow, we've been going for five minutes and she's having a heart attack. That's sad. I'm going to keep working out so I'm not ever as out-of-shape as her." At least I'm motivating others, I guess.
I sold the "Pride and Prejudice" push pins from my Etsy store (yay!) and made two new sets to list:
Grey's Anatomy
and Somewhere In Time
Does anyone else remember this movie - one of my favorites! So romantic!!!
So that's a taste of what I've been up to. And in true "back to blogging" fashion, since it's Tuesday, here's my Tunesday Playlist.
Coming to you as part II of my "Melting Pot" Playlist:
"The Great Escape" by Boys Like Girls
"Fighter" by Christina Aguilara
"Miss Murder" by AFI
"Here It Goes Again" by OK GO
"Take Me out" by Franz Ferdinand
"What You Waiting For" by Gwen Stefani
"Say It Right" by Nelly Furtado
"Switch" by Will Smith
"Just The Girl" by The Click Five
"Who I Am Hates Who I've Been" by Reliant K
"Move Along" by The All-American Rejects
"Walk Away" by Kelly Clarkson
